Sion Davies milks 900 cows in South West Wales with his wife Audrey and their daughters. The herd of pedigree Holsteins averages 11,970 litres with the best 100 cows doing 14,750. Cows are milked three times a day through a 40-point rotary parlour and housed all year round on eco-bedding since the installation of an AD plant three years ago. There is a strong emphasis on cow comfort and maximising the benefits of feed efficiency. The family were also the recipients of the High Feed Efficiency award at the 2016 Cream Awards.

The cows which are housed in cubicles and fed a TMR, achieve an average yield of 10,000 litres and are milked twice a day through a 28:28 herringbone parlour with milk going to Freshways on a liquid contract. As a second generation farmer, Bryan now farms approximately 400 acres with 85 acres of maize and the remainder down to grass. Pioneering cow families include Alicia, Hazel, Jane and Present with April, Echo, Fantee and Trolley being introduced in more recent years.
