    Prestigious Industry Accolade Returns to Flagship Dairy Event

    Returning to Borderway UK Dairy Expo, held in Carlisle, for the fifth year is The John Dennison Lifetime Achievement Award.  The award is in memory of the life time industry contribution made by Cumbrian dairy farmer and highly regarded breeder, John Dennison.

    Nominations Selected for All Britain Awards 2016

    An esteemed panel of leading judges has today (13.01.17) shortlisted the nominations for the 2016 All Britain Awards. The judging panel, stewarded by Lynden Bustard, featured Kevin Wilson (Great Yorkshire Show 2016 Holstein Judge), Brian Davidson (Royal Highland Show 2016 Holstein Judge) and Peter Waring (Royal Welsh Show 2016 Holstein Judge).

    Holstein UK is delighted to announce the joint winners of its Presidents Medal - and this year it is double glory. Andrew Patton and Andrew Patterson have both claimed the accolade, announced at Monday’s night’s Semex Conference in Glasgow.

  • 2016 Herd Competition

    Short Content: In July, we welcomed Matthew Isles from the Sunnybanks herd in Lancashire to judge our summer herd competition. He could not be at our Annual Dinner and Presentation of awards evening due to his impending wedding, but sent a note thanking the Kent family of Yeaveley for their hospitality and company. He also commented that he had “seen exceptional herds of cows. Every single entrant should be very proud of their herds. The standard throughout was fantastic and judging was not an easy job at all. It was refreshing to see such great standards and well-kept farms, given the tough two years we have all been faced with.”

    Presented at this year’s UK Dairy Day was the Holstein UK Premier Pedigree Herd title awarded to Andrew Birkle’s Whinchat herd near Loughborough, Leicestershire.

    2016 Premier Pedigree Herd Competition

    Andrew C Birkle's Whinchat herd has been crowned the winner of the 2016 Premier Pedigree Herd Competition at UK Dairy Day. Following in Reserve was Dennis Smith's Oakroyal herd and Honourable Mention, R D H & M Bowen, Lan Holsteins.
