Herd Visit & Lunch: Clandeboye Herd, by kind permission of Clandeboye Estate CO LTD

12:30pm - Clandeboye, Bangor, Northern Ireland, BT19 1RN

The Clandeboye Herd was established in 1992 by grading up the existing Friesian herd and purchases from local herds and imports from Canada. The herd consists of 75 milking Holsteins plus 25 Jerseys, who are cubicle housed in winter and paddock grazed day and night during the summer with buffer TMR at milking time.

Clandeboye is most famous for the legacy of the 1st Marquess (1826-1902), who laid out the historic parklands under the guidance of James Frazer. The project was so extensive that the estate still boasts the largest area of broadleaved woodland in Northern Ireland.
