Littlestar Award and Louise Hartley Award 2020

Holstein UK are pleased to announce the 2020 winners of the Little Star Award and Louise Hartley Award.

Littlestar Award
Each year at the All Breeds All Britain Calf Show, we present the Littlestar Award to a HYB member aged 17 or under who has made an outstanding contribution to the breed, Holstein Young Breeders and their own Club. With the Calf Show unfortunately not taking place this year, we are pleased to have been able to continue with this award and facilitate virtual judging. It is with great pleasure that we can announce William Neale (Cornwall)  as the very worthy winner of this award, congratulations! We would like to thank Michael Dennison (Semex National Sales Manager), Sarah Hartley and Stuart Roberts (NFU Deputy President) for judging this award.

Louise Hartley Award
The Louise Hartley Award was launched in 2017 to honour the life of Louise Hartley. In celebration of her life, the Louise Hartley Memorial Fund was set up to give a youngster with an interest in agriculture the chance to further their career. The winner of the award is an HYB member, aged between 18 and 22, who has made an outstanding contribution to the breed, Holstein Young Breeders and their own Breeders’ Club. The regional HYB Club Coordinators then vote on behalf of their Club for the person, not from their own Club, who they think is the most deserving winner. It is with great pleasure that we can announce Jonny Woodhouse (Lancashire) as the very worthy winner of this award, congratulations! Thank you to HYB principle Sponsor Semex and 2020 Sponsor, World Wide Sires who will be sending the winner of the award to the global training centre in Washington State on a practical training course.
