Winter 2022 - Western

The events calendar for The Western Holstein Club is beginning to fill up for 2023 and we look forward to seeing everyone again in the coming 12 months.

The last journal deadline was just before our Club Calf Show which was held on 24^th September 2022, it was hosted by Wilf & Pam Lomas and judged by Mr David Gray. It was a fine day and many of the sponsors, exhibitors and friend & families were in attendance, to enjoy refreshments, the company and watch the Clubs youngsters in action. It was good to welcome new members again this year, the results were as follows: -

The Western Holstein Club HYB team then went onto the ABAB Calf Show in Peterborough in October, the Club Champion Calf from Riverdance Holsteins took 1^st place in its Class and overall Honourable Mention, a great weekend was had by all, thank you to everyone involved and all that supported it.

October 25^th 2022, the Club held its Summer Herd competition Presentation Night we had a great turn out with 70 attendees, a very tasty & filling Carvery & Dessert was followed by the presentations.

Herd Competition Judge Mr Mick Gould was present on the night to hand out trophies & certificates to the winners & runners up. Results were published in the last Journal.

The Western Holstein Club Dinner Dance returns in February 2023, we look forward catching up with everyone again and reporting on it in the next Journal.

The Clubs Top Ten Herd Competition will be taking place on week commencing 20^th March with results and awards being announced at the Western Holstein Clubs AGM on Monday 17^th April, which is being kindly hosted by Ray Brown & Partners at Bidlea Dairy start time 7.30pm. The Club is always looking for new or old enthusiastic Council Members, if you would like to, or know of someone who would like to get involved please feel free to have a chat with Ros, Club Secretary, or any Council Members.
