Finalists Announced for 2017 President’s Medal
Three ambitious and tenacious Holstein Young Breeders (HYB) have cut the mustard to be shortlisted for the Holstein UK President’s Medal 2017. Helen Eastham (Lancashire), Lucy Taylor (Staffordshire) and Tom Lomas (Western) have excelled throughout the application process and were handpicked for the final three on Friday 24th November. One of them will be crowned the winner during the evening of the Semex Conference on Monday 15th January in Glasgow.

New Style Gold Cup Names Six Finalists
Finalists in the 2017 NMR/RABDF Gold Cup competition have been announced and include two block calving grassland-based herds, two high-production Holstein herds, a Channel Island herd and a grass-based block calving herd milked once-a-day. This line up reflects the competition’s new remit, which includes entries from the wider range of management systems and businesses that better reflect today’s UK dairy sector.

Boclair Comes Out on Top as Holstein UK Premier Pedigree Herd 2017
The Brewster family of the Boclair herd has been awarded the esteemed Holstein UK Premier Pedigree Herd of 2017 at UK Dairy Day, held on Wednesday 13th September. David and John Brewster, who run the Boclair herd in Scotland, have enjoyed years of success, claiming multiple titles at regional and national level - and the latest win is the ultimate cherry on the cake!

Holstein UK Awards Lifetime Achievement 2017
The Holstein UK Lifetime Achievement Award is the ultimate accolade. Presented by the Holstein UK trustees, it pinpoints an individual who has unassumingly provided outstanding service to the Holstein breed and through doing so has made remarkable contribution to the Society. The award is presented to a farmer, herdsman or any other person involved with Holstein Friesian breed.
