Autumn 2022 - South Wales

July Show & Sale

Held at Whitland mart, this was judged by Danny Davies of Good Hook Farm and sponsored by Lloyds Dairy Centre Ltd. Champion was Castellhyfryd Alfie Haulwen from Geoff & Jean Williams, Penrikka. She sold for £3,000. Another successful show & sale was held.

 

Herds Competition

James Burrow of the Stardale herd travelled down early July to judge our herds competeion. An enjoyable week was had by everyone, with the herd going forward to represent South Wales was the Lan herd of Robert and Emyr Bowen.

Royal Welsh Show

Royal Welsh Show was back with a bang for the South Wales Club!!! Great reception at the AT HOME on Tuesday afternoon, thanks to all for supporting and helping with the preparations.

Congratulations to All the South Wales breeders for all their success and achievements, you were all a credit to the Holstein breed and great ambassadors for the South Wales club.

 

South Wales HYB Training day

This was held at Derimoelion by kind invitation of the Evans family, and was a huge success. There were all ages taking part, gaining experience, learning new skills and making new friends. Senior members where on hand to teach and help the younger ones on and give them confidence. An event that hopefully will be repeated next year.

 

North Eastern Rally Weekend

A team from the south wales HYB travelled to Durham for the annual weekend Rally. After taking several hours to arrive, they all enjoyed the experience and had a great some.

August Show & Sale

Held at Carmarthen mart, the Summer Scorcher show & sale was judged by Dyfrig Davies, Llanllwni Herd and sponsored by Prostock Vets. Champion was Tydal Harper Butterfly from Lewis Fronun and sold for £3400. Another good day at the office !!!

 

September Show & Sale

Back to Whitland mart, with Robert Richards, Mount Farm judging and sponsored by Dyfed Farm Vets. Champion was Tregibby Lexus Roxy from AH Wilson & son and sold for £3400. Quality animals forward with good trade and plenty of buyers.
