Edition 2 - 2023 - Western

The Western Holstein Club was pleased to start 2023 off in style with its Dinner Dance in February, this was the first time it had been held since the Covid-19 pandemic. The night was well supported by members, friends, and local businesses and were very pleased to welcome HUK President Mr John Jamieson and his wife for the night.

The Dinner Dance is always a good opportunity for everyone to get dressed up and get together for a relaxed night of socialising which is finished off after a three-course meal with some much-needed dancing.

A big thank you goes out to everyone who helped prepare and run the evening from the Council members who helped blowing up balloons, members selling and buying tickets to the agricultural businesses supporting the event, and to Jonty Cliffe from Market Drayton Dairy Sales who helped keep the event flowing by acting as MC for the evening, the whole evening had a great atmosphere and we look forward to doing it all over again next year. 

Next on the Western Holstein Clubs events calendar is the Top Ten Competition Herd Competition which is taking place at the end of March, as always the club have a good number of entries forward for this year’s Judge Mr John Eardley. The Club looks forward to reporting the results in the next Journal, the presentation of the Top Ten awards will have been announced and presented at the Clubs AGM in April being held at Bidlea Dairy.

Friday 9th June 2023 joint with Staffordshire & Shropshire Clubs - Kindly Hosted by Mr M Whitehurst (Folemill), Hawksmoor House, Hawksmoor, Adderley, Market Drayton TF9 3TJ - Master Judge Mr Hefyn Wilson

The Western Holstein Club are looking forward to supporting the incoming HUK President Mr Andrew Jones (Rossett Holsteins) and his family at the Holstein UK Celebration and AGM being held on 27th & 28th June in and around Cheshire.
